Time-of-Sale & Truth-in-Housing
Many communities in the Twin Cities require an inspection when a home is sold. They differ in the following ways:
When the inspection needs to be performed? Some cities require the inspection be done prior to listing or showing the home. Other cities require the inspection be performed prior to closing.
Are repairs required? Repairs and corrections vary from city to city. Some cities require the entire home be brought up to code while others require no corrections.
Report need to be displayed? You may or may not need to display the report on site for potential buyers to view during showings.
Who performs the inspection? About half of the city-required inspections are performed by city employees and the other half are performed by InspectOne.
